The Bayview Farmers Market begins its new season this week.

The opening bell for the South End’s largest outdoor market will be sounded at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30.

The market, a member of the Washington State Farmers Market Association, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 29 at Bayview Corner, on Bayview Road just off Highway 525.

More than 70 vendors will offer local produce and other farm products, local baked goods (including breads, pies, muffins and bars), local hot foods and local artisan crafts, organizers said.

As the weather warms, more produce — including Washington berries — will be available, they said.

Opening day also will feature marimba music by students of the Rubatano Studio.

A list of vendors and more information about the market can be found by visiting www.bayview
