Award-winning Whidbey area photo to earn lodging package

December 11, 2012 · Updated 2:51 PM

The Cascade Loop Association is holding its first Facebook Photo Contest and invites the public to submit their photos taken along or nearby the Cascade Loop, which includes Whidbey Island.

To enter to win, contestants must “like” the Cascade Loop’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CascadeLoopScenicHighway, and post their photo(s) accompanied by their name and where the photo was taken.

Photos may be entered until Dec. 30. Contestants may enter multiple photos.

At that time, all entries will be gathered into one combined Facebook photo gallery, and Facebook users will vote on the photos from Jan. 1 to 7. The photo with the most combined likes and shares from throughout the contest wins.

The winner will receive a Cascade Loop lodging package: an overnight stay at the Inn at Port Gardner on the Everett waterfront, an overnight stay at Mountain Springs Lodge in Plain, an overnight stay at Whidbey Island’s historic Fort Casey Inn and an overnight stay at Winthrop’s scenic River Run Inn.

The Cascade Loop is a 400-plus mile stretch of highway beginning in Snohomish County. It passes through Skagit Valley, over Deception Pass, through Whidbey Island and onto the ferry, shuttling guests back to the mainland at Mukilteo.
