A new bi-monthly event on South Whidbey called the Bayview Progressive will feature the changing exhibitions of local artists that are on display throughout Bayview Corner. 

Attendees at the debut event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14 are invited to stroll from merchant to merchant, meeting the local artists whose work is on display, enjoying refreshments, and maybe a surprise along the way.

Pick up a raffle entry from each business visited and enter to win prizes.

“We look forward to attendees progressing their way from one fun spot to another,” says Debbie Torget, executive director of Goosefoot, in a release.

“As an adjective, ‘progressive’ can mean happening gradually or in stages, or proceeding step by step. And that’s exactly how we’d like folks to enjoy Bayview Corner at these gatherings. Our motto is stroll, visit, enjoy, repeat!’”

Art exhibits are on display at three locations:

The Queen’s Buns features Emanations of Love: Heart Centered Photography (Part II) by Sue Averett.

Blooms Winery Taste for Wine & Art is exhibiting the work of six artists in Our Mother Earth: Earth & Ocean: Janet van Allworden, Virginia Bloom, Sandy Dubpernell, Rainy Lindell, Janet Pheifer and Diane Reardon.

Galeria Chiropractica (located in the Sears House) features The Long View of Circular Logic: Photography by Joe Menth.

Although the visual arts will remain a focus of Bayview Progressives, future events will highlight additional businesses.

On Thursday, May 9, the Progressive will expand to include the healing and wellness arts — both represented at Bayview Corner.

There is no fee to attend a Bayview Progressive.
