Janie Gabelein said every time one of their kids moved out, she and her husband expanded the Farm House Bed and Breakfast.

The Gabelein's -- who raised three children in their home -- were acknowledged in the Winter 2003 Arrington's Inn Traveler magazine as one of the best bed and breakfasts on the West Coast, according to Janie.

The Farm House Bed and Breakfast opened five years ago with a loft suite over the Gabelein's garage. The Honeymoon Suite is now the largest of four suites available, according to Janie.

The Farm House earned the honor from a contest where inngoers voted on their favorite bed and breakfasts and inns from a questionaire insert in Arrington's Inn Traveler magazine.

Their sixth place finish, among the 15 on that list, was an honor received based on the greatest number of votes, according to Janie.

The Farm House overlooks Sunlight Beach and boasts amenities such as jacuzzi baths, kitchens and outside entrances, said Janie. Each room is decorated in a different theme, she said, and they receive a special breakfast delivered to their room in the evening.

"We specialize in privacy," said Janie.

The Gabelein's bed and breakfast was also featured on various northwest radio stations in Weekends Around the Northwest Radio Show May 10-11. The show features ideas on what to see and where to go in the Pacific Northwest.
