Kevin Lungren of the Whidbey Island Fishin’ Club returns to swap fishing and crabbing reports at the South Whidbey Tilth Farmers’ Market during its hours 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4. Nick Toombs performs his hauntingly mystical music on both six- and 12-string guitar during the market. The farmers market is at 2812 Thompson Road, off Highway 525, look for the scarecrow. Visitors will find lots of mid-summer fruits and vegetables, locally grown using organic methods and unique arts and crafts. Kym Saephan of Whidbey Rice serves hot brunch and tasty Southeast Asian dishes. Kim McJury of the Left-over Queen is grilling Three Sisters franks along with some shrimp or chicken kabobs. Eat picnic-style on the grassy grounds. SNAP cards and Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons are accepted. For more information, contact the market manager at market@southwhidbeytilth.org
