Robin Hertlein, owner of Hertlein Grant Writing in Coupeville, has received a national credential awarded by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute, an affiliate of the American Association of Grant Professionals.

Her successful completion of a two-day exam makes her one of 225 grant writers nationally and one of only nine in Washington state to receive the certification.

As a consultant for nonprofit agencies, Hertlein has raised funds for hospitals, food banks, youth programs, senior services and art festivals. She also works with statewide agencies and international organizations.

She is a member of the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association, and a board member of the North Sound Development Association.
