The Northwest Language Academy has a new home. Thanks to a Missouri-based benefactor, the nonprofit organization has moved its operations and classes from Bayview Corner to the former Ashingdon Manor at 5023 Langley Road in Langley.

Impressed with the 13-year-old NWLA’s program, Robert Crawford’s REC Music Foundation of St. Louis purchased the Ashingdon Manor property and turned it over to the language academy, said Josette Hendrix, NWLA’s founder and director.

NWLA offers multi-age language and cultural programs, children’s summer camps, multi-cultural dinners, language cafés for young and old, and private instruction. It also offers guided foreign travel, and classes in eight languages: French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish, Bulgarian, Japanese and Chinese.

An open house at Ashingdon Manor is planned for later in the summer.
