Financial advisor opens office in Clinton

Edward Jones is a big name in the investment world, but Don Rowan gives the largest financial services firm in the U.S. a local and familiar face.

The Langley resident opened an office at Clinton Square in Clinton. Rowan and his assistant Kristi Kammenga moved into their new digs two weeks ago.

At the new Edward Jones branch office, available services include all the financial and investment advice customers are expecting from Edward Jones, but they’ll get the responsiveness of a neighbor.

“That’s what Edward Jones is all about,” Rowan said. “The company goes to communities across the nation where farmers, business people and retirees welcome one-on-one investment information that might be difficult to get if Edward Jones weren’t there.”

The concept, however, is fairly new for the company. Only recently, technology available allows the advisors to stay connected with Wall Street and the floor of the stock exchange while being in a rural area such as Whidbey Island.

With a push of a button, it’s possible to buy, sell or lock in prices.

“I want my clients to know that just because I know their names doesn’t mean I don’t know what’s happening on Wall Street right now,” Rowan said. “They don’t have to sacrifice personal service in order to get up-to-date investment information.”

Rowan has been with Edward Jones for a year and has been working as a financial advisor for the past four years.

“It’s my second career,” he explained.

The company has more than 9,200 branch offices in the United States and 10,000 globally.

Contact Rowan at 341-4556. The office is located at 6315 Storkson Road, Suite 102 in Clinton.
