South Whidbey student graduates from CWU | KUDOS

Mary Bakeman, a 2006 South Whidbey High School graduate, completed her studies at Central Washington State University in December 2010. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree in design/technology with a minor in apparel design.
As a scholarship recipient, she competed at the varsity level in track and cross country, earning the “Most Valuable Player” award for cross country in her senior year. Academically, she earned dean’s list honors and was a Kennedy Center Achievement Award winner for costume design.
Now employed at Jarbo Incorporated, Bakeman spends her time between New York, Los Angeles and the company’s headquarters in Bellevue. The firm designs and manufacturers a full line of women’s clothing for sale throughout North America.
