A fundraiser to help longtime South Whidbey residents Bruce and Teresa Grimm with their medical bills will be held at the American Legion on April 30.

The Grimms were still recovering from Bruce’s fall and subsequent surgery following his accident in December, and in March, Teresa was hospitalized for pneumonia.

The Legion has planned a fundraiser for the Grimm family, who have no health insurance, at the hall on Highway 525. Organizers said $20 will get a trip through the taco bar, a raffle ticket for some really great prizes and fun with Karaoke Steve. Dinner starts at 6, and Steve will entertain from 8 until midnight. There will be a silent auction for big prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

People who are not Legion members and would like to attend this event can call Carrie at 331-1896, Melody at 360-730-2148, or the Legion at 321-5696.

Those who are unable to attend but would like to donate, can mail checks payable to the American Legion, PO Box 221, Langley, WA 98260 with “Grimm Fundraiser” in the memo.
