Verlane and Marilyn Gabelein of Clinton are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Emily Gabelein to Jake McDougall, son of Steve and Carrie McDougall and Pat and George Cano.

The soon-to-be bride graduated from South Whidbey High School and recently graduated from Skagit Valley College with a nursing degree. The groom is employed at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders as a shipfitter. The couple met at the shipyard several years ago.

The couple will be married on Sept. 10, 2011 in a private, outdoor ceremony for close friends and family, followed by a celebration.

The happy couple reside in Clinton along with their black Lab Zena.
