Melissa Smith and Sylvia Hurlburt dance to “I Can’t Do It Alone”  from the musical “Chicago,” at a recent Island Dance Competition Team event.

Smith and Hurlburt performed at the educational competition/convention April 29 to May 1, hosted by Hollywood Vibe at the Hyatt Seatac.

The team received the privilege of taking classes with dance star Kent Boyd, last year’s second place winner of the popular TV show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Island Dance will hold auditions for next season’s 2011-12 Dance Competition Team on Saturday, May 21.
