August 2, 2011 · Updated 7:13 AM
Local birding experts will once again offer Whidbey Audubon’s popular course, “Birds of Whidbey Island.”
The course will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of the month, from Sept. 1 through May 2012, at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. The course includes 18 classes and 10 field trips, and classes are scheduled around the seasons the birds are most abundant.
The course fee is $150 for Whidbey Audubon members; $160 for non-members (which includes nine issues of the Whidbey Audubon newsletter). A student rate of $50 for students up through grade 12 is also available.
For more information, or to register, email Kim Shepard at kwshepard@gmail.com or call Miriam Nack at 360-321-3968. Space is limited to 24 students.
