Cliff Abraham, a bus operator and a dispatcher for Island Transit, has been named as the bus company’s “Employee of the Half” for the period of January through June.

The biannual award honors an employee chosen by fellow employees.

Anderson, who hails from Oak Harbor, is described by his colleagues as an even-tempered and smooth communicator. He steps up to any task that no one else has time to do, they said of him, and is extremely prompt and proper in his actions. He sets a professional example on and off the road.

Co-workers said Anderson commands and expresses himself on the radio in a calm, professional, direct and well-thought-out demeanor.
