The South Whidbey Centaurs 4-H Club is hosting an Open Horse Jumping Show to help celebrate the beginning of a new 4-H year.

The show will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Island County Fairgrounds in Langley and is open to all youths and adults, 4-H members and non-4-H members.

The Jumping Show offers a variety of flat and jumping classes for everyone from beginners to advanced riders. All 4-H rules will apply, including all riders being required to wear helmets and boots.

Participants will have an opportunity to ride a schooling round at the fairgrounds Saturday, Oct. 8 for $15 per round. Camping and overnight stalls are available. Organizers said the event will also be a 4-H state qualifying show for the 2012 state fair.

For more information about the show, contact Joantha Guthrie at 331-5276 or email Joantha@whidbey.com.
