South Whidbey Lions Club members will be outside local grocery stores Saturday, Nov. 12 accepting food donations and money to stock the shelves at the Good Cheer Food Bank.

The Lions will be at the Clinton Food Mart, the Red Apple at Ken’s Korner,  the Goose Grocery in Bayview, the Star Store in Langley and Payless in Freeland from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Saturday.

Lions President Terry Minton reminds donors this year their gifts are particularly significant.

Good Cheer provided clients a holiday meal for both Thanksgiving and Christmas in past years, and this year the need for assistance increased from 767 to 840 households. Monetary donations are tax-deductible.
