Paint pottery and help kids on Whidbey

November 20, 2011 · 11:35 AM

The Paint Escape has teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County to offer fun for children during parent-teacher conferences this month.

The Freeland business will donate 15 percent of its sales during the South Whidbey parent/teacher conference days, Nov. 21, 22 and 23.

“It’s perfect timing to make holiday gifts and enjoy some time together being creative,” said Michaela Marx Wheatley, the South Whidbey site director for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“The Paint Escape is a great place and our Bigs and Littles have loved going there to work on projects over the years," she added. "We appreciate the Paint Escape’s generosity and hope that many, many families come out to get creative, and support an awesome local business and Big Brothers Big Sisters.”

Kids can create their own masterpiece with as little or as much guidance as needed from the Paint Escape’s experienced staff. The shop has a large number of seasonal and holiday mugs, ornaments and other fun items to choose from and is fun for all ages.

The Paint Escape is at 1664 Main St. in Freeland. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, or 12:30 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
