SWHS parents can tour classes

February 6, 2012 · 7:50 AM

Parents of South Whidbey High School students can visit their child’s classes and meet their teachers this month.

South Whidbey is having an open house at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. The evening is a time for parents to meet teachers who will explain their programs, curriculum, classroom expectations, grading procedures and other activities for students.

Typically, parents follow their child’s schedule, spending a few minutes in each class. Teachers answer common questions such as: What’s the teacher’s homework policy? What happens if an assignment is late? Are there any major projects on the horizon?

The open house is also a chance for parents to meet the parents of their teen’s classmates.

Organizers said it also provides an opportunity for parents to lend support to their student.
