South Whidbey will be hosting a Jump Rope for Heart event later this month at the Langley Middle School gyms.

This event will include basketball, volleyball, jump roping and other activities related to fitness and health. Students and community participants are encouraged to bring a $5 donation for the American Heart Association for education and heart research.

Jump Rope for Heart is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, and everyone is welcome. This is the 10th annual Jump Rope for Heart event held in the South Whidbey School District and the 22nd year that South Whidbey High School teacher Craig Stelling has led it.

“I look forward to hosting this event this year with other PE staff members and health professionals, and hope we have a great turnout for the cause of fighting heart disease,” Stelling said.
