Discuss social safety net in Freeland

Cathy Niiro, executive director of United Way of Island County, Jackie Henderson, director of the Island County Human Services Department, and Carla Grau-Egerton, director of the Island County Court Appointed Special Advocates program, will participate in a discussion about the social safety net in Island County from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the Freeland Library.
These three women are responsible for many of the important social safety net programs in the county. Attendees will hear from them about funding issues and other urgent problems being faced to keep these services operating.
