Learn how to read the Bible
June 1, 2012 · Updated 2:15 PM
All are welcome to St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Freeland Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this month, June 7, 14, 21 and 28, for the program, “How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth,” led by Dr. Tom Johnson and Dr. Frank Shirbroun.
This series will focus on the different kinds of literature found in the Bible and how to interpret them. It will also discuss and show how the Bible may be used in the formation of Christian faith (theology) and Christian practice (ethics). The intent is to offer something practical rather than theoretical. Bring a Bible and come with questions.
Evenings will begin with coffee and a dessert potluck.
The church is located at 5217 S. Honeymoon Bay Road, Freeland. RSVP to formation@whidbey.com or the church office at 331-4887.
