With many family members and friends in attendance, Skagit Valley College’s (SVC) Whidbey Island Campus and South Whidbey Center celebrated student achievement at the college’s annual Honors Reception on Friday, May 18 at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge.

During the reception, the SVC Foundation awarded 47 scholarships, totaling $55,043, to 33 students to help them continue their education.

This year’s South Whidbey Center Carol Huber Award was presented to Patrick Moll-Nevins of Clinton.

Instructors at the South Whidbey Center recognized his demonstrated academic interest and dedication. He does well in his classes and expresses interest in how other students are doing, helping to improve their understanding and confidence. He is viewed as an asset to every class.
