Fire Chief Rusty Palmer, pictured, and the team at South Whidbey Fire/EMS invites the public to kick off fire prevention week by enjoying breakfast and meeting their first responders at the Langley station from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6. The station is located at 820 Camano Ave. in Langley.

Local volunteer firefighters and EMTs will be there to answer questions, show their equipment and offer tours of the station. Everyone is invited.
