RELIGION NOTES | Explore man’s unity with God

October 12, 2012 · Updated 4:56 PM

“Atonement” will be the topic of the Christian Science service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

Although the concept of atonement is often connected to the idea of punishment or of making amends, this service will explore the idea of “at-one-ment” with God: “Atonement is the exemplification of man’s unity with God, whereby man reflects divine Truth, Life, and Love.” (Science and Health).

This view of unity is supported through readings from the Bible and Science and Health. “… the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.” (Hebrews 7:19)

The Christian Science Church of South Whidbey is located at 15910 Highway 525 (just north of Bayview and across from Useless Bay Road). Sunday school is also available at that time. Everyone is welcome. Call 321-4080 for details.
