RELIGION NOTES | Conference focuses on short missions

Whidbey Evangelical Free Church, 874 Plantation Drive in Greenbank, will be hosting an Annual Missions Conference Oct. 19 to 21. The emphasis will be on short term missions.
Special guests will include Mark and Jan Halstrom, from Seattle, who recently served a short term mission with Reach Global in India; David and Janet Martens, from Langley, British Columbia, who served short term missions with Reach Global in Cuba; and David and Jackie Heinen, who serve full time with Youth Dynamics in Republic, Wash.
There will be a youth meeting Friday, Oct. 19, a men’s breakfast and a women’s tea on Saturday, Oct. 20 with various speakers at all events. David Martens will speak in the Adult Bible Fellowship at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 and Mark Halstrom will speak at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. A potluck will follow and there will be a question and answer time with the missionaries.
