The bookmobile headed to Whidbey Island to visit the home of 5-year-old Connor Bartel, the Summer Reading grand prize winner, and was met by a very excited family.

Connor and his brother, sisters and mother climbed on the bookmobile for their very first time and commented, “It looks just like a library.”

Staff from Wheels and the Freeland Library presented Connor with a bouquet of balloons and his very first library card, although it was a challenge to distract him from the superhero readers he found on board.

After checking out stacks of books, the children had fun making and chasing bubbles around the bookmobile.
