Sound Waters 'one day university' registers soon

December 28, 2012 · Updated 2:42 PM

Sound Waters, a “one day university for all,” takes place Feb. 2 and registration opens soon.

Sponsored by the WSU Beach Watchers, the educational event draws up to 500 each year. In 15 years it has outgrown its traditional venue in Coupeville, so this year has moved to the expansive Oak Harbor High School campus.

Registration begins Jan. 5 and the “university” will be held Feb. 2. Each year, Island County Beach Watchers volunteers begin planning for Sound Waters in late spring. Sound Waters’ 2013 website is now open.
