RELIGION NOTES | Universalists hold Festival of Lights

December 29, 2012 · Updated 3:11 PM

Fire is a sacred symbol common to the beliefs and rituals of many cultures. During the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Dec. 30, of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, participants will share reflections on the use of fire in the traditions of the Winter Solstice, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and the Unitarian Universalism.

All are welcome at a candle lighting ceremony to affirm their best intentions for the New Year. Children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be available. Call 360-569-4053 for details.
