Tour historic Sunnyside Cemetery

Central Whidbey Island historian and pioneer descendant Roger Sherman will lead a guided tour of the historic Sunnyside Pioneer Cemetery on Memorial Day Monday, May 27, at 1 p.m.

While touring the beautiful old cemetery, Sherman will focus on the early history of Whidbey Island and explain how various settlers and their families developed the island.

Sunnyside Cemetery is located on the north ridge of Ebey’s Prairie.

Cemetery Heritage Tour passes are $5 per person. All proceeds benefit the operations of the Island County Historical Museum. Passes may be purchased at the Island County Museum, 908 N.W. Alexander St., Coupeville, or at the cemetery the day of the event, based on availability. Advance purchase is highly recommended. Call 360-678-3310 for passes or information.
