Whidbey Island Fishin’ Club caught some dough from members and released it to recent high school graduates.

The club awarded Flint Nienhuis, who recently graduated from Oak Harbor High School, a $1,000 scholarship check.

Nienhuis will attend the University of Idaho in the fall and plans to study fisheries science.

The club also presented a scholarship to recent South Whidbey High School graduate Anna Hood.
