A longtime resident of Whidbey Island had a whole lot to smile about recently. Not many folks will make it past their 100 birthday, but Inga Borgstrom did, and then some.

Borgstrom celebrated her 106th birthday on May 23, 2008 at Careage of Whidbey in Coupeville.

Borgstrom and her husband Bill moved to Whidbey Island from Lake Forest Park in 1966 and built a home in Langley.

Borgstrom’s husband died in 1999 at the age of 99. The couple was married for 72 years.
