Air Force Airman Megan R. Jeffers, right, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, on May 30.

She graduated within the top five percent of her class, earning the title of Honor Graduate.

Jeffers completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Jeffers has continued her Air Force education in Cyber Systems at Keesler Air Force Base.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Jeffers is the daughter of Wayne and Jody Jeffers of Freeland. Megan, a 2012 South Whidbey High School graduate, has been an active part of Whidbey’s Amateur Radio Club and Mystery Weekend performances.

She joins her sister, Airman Krystal M. Jeffers, in an Air Force Career. Airman Krystal M. Jeffers joined in 2010 and is in public relations for Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.
