Whidbey son leaves Montana a master | KUDOS

Sam Lungren, a South Whidbey High School alumnus of the class of 2007, is now a master.

The Whidbey Island native, son of Kevin and Mary Jane Lungren, graduated with a master’s degree in environmental science and natural resource journalism from the University of Montana this spring.

He also received the Outstanding Graduate Career award from the university’s journalism school.

He wished to thank Whidbey organizations and individuals who provided their support, both financial and emotional, to help him succeed at the University of Montana.

Lungren received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Gonzaga University in 2011.
