Rotary Westside to host tournament

Rotary Westside’s inaugural Whidbey Island Monopoly Championship will kick off this month.

The event is open to all ages and runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at WiFire Coffee Bar in Freeland, 1651 E. Main St.

Organizers are hailing the three-round Monopoly tournament as an afternoon of fun, matching wits and skill to win cash prize.

With experience at the national level, Jackson Taylor is leading the charge to establish an exciting championship event here on Whidbey Island. He finished 16th in the National Tournament in 2009 and is the current Illinois State Champion.
