Clinton native receives degree
September 3, 2008 · Updated 10:28 AM
Clinton’s Nicholas Frank LaVassar, a 2004 South Whidbey High School graduate, recently earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington.
LaVassar has been accepted to Stanford University beginning in the fall quarter of 2008-2009 to work toward his masters and ultimately his doctorate degree. He will also be a member of STAR Lab Very Low Frequency Research Group at Stanford.
LaVassar is a recipient of a five-quarter fellowship award. The award is based upon academic achievement, and only a small number of applicants receive such an award each year.
