WSU Extension is now accepting applications for Master Gardener training.

Master Gardener training is offered just once a year. The six-week training session is held two days per week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in January and February, and classes are taught by WSU faculty and veteran Master Gardeners.

Those interested in becoming a Master Gardener need to fill out an application and submit it to the extension office by Nov. 16.

All applicants will be interviewed, and from among those interviewed 20 will be accepted into training.

The cost of training is $75. Students must agree to volunteer 85 hours of community service over the next two years as Island County Master Gardeners.

To obtain an application, visit www.island.wsu.edu or call 360-240-5527.
