Islanders earn degrees at Washington State University

Six students from South Whidbey have earned undergraduate degrees for the fall 2008 semester at Washington State University in Pullman.
Wendy Marie Alexander of Clinton graduated magna cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.
Malory Gene Atkins of Langley earned a bachelor of arts degree in social sciences.
Nicole Marie Eaton of Langley graduated magna cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in sport management.
Samuel James-Francis Rowley of Langley earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication.
Leon G. Shordon of Langley graduated summa cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in human development.
Amanda Jeanne Sawyer of Greenbank graduated cum laude, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Students earn summa cum laude honors for a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or better; magna cum laude for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.70 but less than 3.90; and cum laude for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 but less than 3.70.
