New Kiwanis president Don LaMontagne receives congratulations from past president Jim Henderson.

The Kiwanis of South Whidbey install new officers

The Kiwanis of South Whidbey recently installed its new officers and directors for 2009-10.

Don LaMontagne will be the president of the volunteer organization, which is devoted to serving children throughout the world. Ron Meyers is vice president and Bob Welch will serve as secretary. Jim Henderson is the treasurer, and also served as president.

The installation of officers was held on Sept. 24 at the Langley CMA Church. Lt. Gov. Elect Paul Godfrey presided over the installation of new officers and the board.

Other board members are Vergie Prescott, Bruce Forbes, Rich Richmond, Robert Treulich and David Jones.

The Kiwanis also honored retiring board members Bill Carruthers and Meyers, with Lt. Gov. Jerry Munson presiding over the retirement

ceremony.
