New officers were installed Wednesday afternoon at American Legion Post 141 in Bayview. From left are Sue Steele, president of the post auxiliary; Sandy Leslie, past president of the auxiliary; Saul Kitz (front), commander of Post 141; Dick McClellan (rear), Americanism chairman; Cyndi Fairbrook, auxiliary historian; Helen Endres, auxiliary sergeant-at-arms; Dick Nelson (rear), Post 141 vice president; Eloise Taylor, auxiliary chaplain; George Paris (rear), Sons of American Legion South commander; and Terri Campbell, secretary-treasurer of the auxiliary and of District 2.

The post, headquartered along Highway 525 in Bayview, has about 1,300 members, including 170 auxiliary members, all from the South Whidbey area, Campbell said. It was established in 1976.

Wednesday’s installing officer was Bud Sperry, District 2 president.

The post will be the location for a Veteran’s Day service and potluck sponsored by South Whidbey Community Church. It will be at noon on Sunday, Nov. 8. Everyone is invited.
