The annual Holiday House, sponsored by the Island County Readiness to Learn Foundation in conjunction with Toys For Tots, is set for this month.

It will be the week of Monday, Dec. 14 to Friday, Dec. 18 at South Whidbey Elementary School on Maxwelton Road.

Holiday House provides gifts for children of families struggling to meet basic needs, said organizer Ann Johnson of Readiness to Learn.

Set up like a store, Holiday House allows families to shop for and wrap items their children want and need.

Donations of money and gifts are used to stock the store, and volunteers from throughout Whidbey Island donate time and expertise.

Drop boxes for new, unwrapped gifts and monetary contributions will soon be available in each community.

Pick up a donation envelope at any toy collection box, or mail a contribution to Family Resource Center, PO Box 346, Langley, WA 98260.

For more information about Holiday House, call 221-6808, ext. 4322.
