Local resident Erica Rayner-Horn recently released her “Finding Tranquility: Guided Mindfulness Meditations for Stressful Times” CD, available in Langley at Moonraker and Star Basics, and in Freeland at Llynya and 1504 Coffee.

A psychotherapist who practices in Seattle, Rayner-Horn’s CD was inspired by her work teaching meditation techniques to cancer support groups.

The tracks include such gentle instructions as “What is Mindfulness Meditation,” How to Practice Mindfulness and Integrate in Everyday Life,” and several guided meditations entitled, “Breathing: Calming Body and Mind,” “Relaxing: Releasing Tension in Body and Mind,” and “Resting in Spacious Awareness,” among others.

Rayner-Horn is so certain this 80-minute CD will provide the utmost relaxation that a warning to not practice such meditations while driving or operating machinery is noted on the cover.

A visit to Rayner-Horn’s Web site at http://www.ericarayner-horn.com provides an audio sample of “Finding Tranquility.”
