Sandford completes boot camp

Marine Corps Pfc. Halston James Campbell Sandford graduated from boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. on Dec. 18, 2009.

Sandford successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego as one of 72 recruits in Charlie Company Training Platoon 1054.

Sandford, 18, is the grandson of Dean and Gloria Campbell of Whidbey Island.

Following 10 days home on leave, he reported to Camp Pendleton, Calif. for two months in the Infantry Training Battalion at Marine Corps’ School of Infantry-West. Sandford is currently training as a machine gunner.
