Rotary Club of South Whidbey offers scholarships
March 18, 2010 · Updated 8:58 AM
The deadline is April 1 to apply for scholarships offered again this year by the Rotary Club of South Whidbey, said Andy McRea of the club’s scholarship committee.
More than $13,000 will be awarded for academic and vocational programs this year. Amounts will vary up to $3,000, McRea said.
Graduating seniors and college students younger than 25 are eligible, if they are permanent residents of South Whidbey (south of Greenbank). They also must be applying to or accepted by accredited institutions, including official apprenticeship programs.
Applicants must have an excellent record of behavior and accomplishment during the past few years, McRea said.
Forms and instructions are available at the counselors’ offices at South Whidbey High School and Bayview School, and online by Googling “Rotary Club of South Whidbey Island” and locating the “Scholarship application forms” button on the home page.
Applications should be e-mailed to amcrea@hotmail.com, or mailed to Rotary Scholarship Committee, PO Box 444, Freeland, WA 98249.
For more information, call McRea at 331-5183, or e-mail amcrea@hotmail.com.
