Meerkerk Gardens continues its summer concert series with its annual bluegrass concert at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.

An open mic begins at 11 a.m., followed by two groups performing until 3 p.m.: Bayview Sound, specializing in tight four-part harmonies of traditional country and folk favorites as well as renditions of newer artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show and Maria Dunn; and Northern Departure, a nationally recognized group that uses time-honored tools of the bluegrass trade — guitar, upright bass, banjo, mandolin and fiddle — coupled with flawless picking, earnest harmonies and an unsullied Northwest perspective.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a relaxing afternoon and wear your walking shoes to explore the gardens and forest trails.

The entry fee is $15 per adult, children under 16 are admitted free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For details, call 360-678-1912 or visit www.meerkerkgardens.org.
