Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in Langley presents the 32nd Annual “ Seattle International Comedy Competition” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11.

The Seattle International Comedy Competition is an annual, multi-week, judged, stand-up comedy contest. More than 30 comedians, out of hundreds who apply, perform in shows held in comedy clubs, bars, restaurants, casinos and theaters in and around Seattle and the Puget Sound region through November.

Contestants at WICA will perform before a panel of local judges, including Jim Freeman, Sue Frause and Suzanne Kelman.  After performing in six shows in six weeks, the top five comedians from each preliminary week will meet at the semi-finals, where they'll perform longer sets for another six shows. Those top five will move to the finals, and will perform 20 minute-long sets in five more shows until, finally, a winner is crowned.

Tickets are $15 (all seats) and available by contacting the WICA Ticket Office (360) 221-8268or (800) 638-7631. Additional information at www.WICAonline.com.
