Encaustic art talk comes to Freeland

Ron Ward will lead a hands-on class and introduction to encaustic art at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at the Freeland Library.

Encaustic painting is an art technique that involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments have been added. Metal tools and special brushes can be used to shape the paint before it cools or heated metal tools can be used to manipulate the wax once it has cooled onto the surface.
