Brackenwood Gallery features haunts

July 31, 2012 · Updated 1:59 PM

Brackenwood Gallery in downtown Langley features Pete Jordan’s oil paintings and watercolors. The show continues through Aug. 27.

This show features both island landscapes and paintings of appealing objects the artist has accumulated over the years. From old gas cans sitting on a porch to magnificent vistas, Jordan captures a scene and takes the viewer there.

Jordan loves nature, which comes through in his landscapes. Although he is a master at lighting, what drives this artist is the subject matter. This time, he has concentrated on items he collects or uses in his daily life as well as favorite haunts on Whidbey.

A reception is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Brackenwood Gallery is located at 302 First St. in Langley.
