Simple delights are at Whidbey Art Gallery

July 31, 2012 · Updated 2:01 PM

Barbara Mearing is the featured artist through August at Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley. Mearing works in pastels, acrylics and colored pencils.

“I paint for the simple pleasure of it, or as the song says to ‘fill up my senses.’ My subjects are ordinary things: simple objects, flowers, local scenes, and serendipitous, suddenly realizing the scene in front of me is beautiful,” Mearing said.

Meet her at the art opening from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.

Whidbey Art Gallery is located at 220 Second St. in Langley. For more information, visit www.whidbeyartists.com.
