Whidbey artist features ‘Wiggly Island’

November 13, 2012 · Updated 2:36 PM

Whidbey Watercolorist Randy Emmons has a published book titled “Whidbey In Watercolors, Images of a Wiggly Island North of Seattle.” It is currently in Penn Cove Gallery in Coupeville and Garry Oak Gallery in Oak Harbor. The book is a colorful look at Whidbey scenes in the odd way Emmons sees things. And to make it even more interesting, he included many of the reference photos as well, so readers can see where artistic license was used in the painting of the scenes.

Also, Emmons has a 2013 calendar, “Barns Of North Whidbey.” This is the third year he has created a Whidbey calendar of his original watercolor. The calendars are available at Penn Cove and Garry Oak Galleries, and Island Drug.
