The music committee of the Whidbey Island Arts Council seeks submissions for “Whidbey Celebrates,” a compilation CD by Whidbey Island musicians.

The CD will be the first in a series of musical releases produced and marketed as a fundraiser for the Whidbey Island Arts Council.

A subcommittee will select 12 to 16 songs, four to five minutes long, for the CD, which will be sold by local retailers. All local musicians are eligible to submit up to three finished pieces of professionally engineered original music.

Submissions will be reviewed through Sept. 1, and the committee will make final selections by Sept. 15.

For technical specifications and submission procedures, contact Mona Newbauer by e-mail at monalynn@whidbey.com.
